10 years ago, I was on a driving trip in Spain ( http://chris-king.org.uk/Lotus/Stelvio2001/index.html ). During lunch we saw the reports of the first plane hit the World Trade Centre. By the time we left the cafe, reports were coming in that the Pentagon had been hit. By the time we got to our hotel that evening the towers had collapsed.
